Where can I apply to be a CAT Adjuster?
Submit your application here on our careers portal.
What are the steps in the hiring process?
- Apply online and submit your application here on our careers portal
- A member of our HR team will review your application
- If you meet the requirements, you will receive an email with a new hire checklist and two separate emails entitled "Form Request" (you can also access these forms on your careers portal dashboard)
- Upon completion of the two forms, you will receive an email from our background vendor, HireRight, to submit your background check and drug screen
- Once the background check is complete and passes, you will receive an email to complete your onboarding paperwork in our careers portal
- An I-9 task in DocuSign will be emailed to you for completion
- Upon successful completion of these tasks, your profiles will be added to RENOVO
**Each step is contingent on the previous step being completed and all onboarding must be completed within 7 days
I have little or no experience adjusting. Can I still work with Crawford?
Yes! You can work with Crawford through our CAT Adjuster Trainee opportunity. In this position, you must complete continuing education requirements as outlined by Crawford Educational Services. This opportunity requires a valid driver’s license and a college degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Express your interest here on our careers portal.

Where are you located?
Crawford is a global company with offices in over 70 countries around the world. We are headquartered in Atlanta, GA at 5335 Triangle Parkway, NW, Peachtree Corners, GA 30092. Our CAT team also has a primary office in Allen, TX at 830 S. Greenville Avenue, Allen, TX 75002.
What does a CAT adjuster do?
- Examines claims forms, policies and endorsements, client instructions and other records when available to determine coverage
- Investigates claims by interviewing claimants and inspecting physical damage
- Sets loss reserves if applicable
- Prepares reports by collecting and summarizing information required by client, local, state and federal government and by Crawford
- Settles claims by determining insurance carrier’s liability, client’s instructions and authority levels required by obtaining demands and making offers to claimants, issuing settlement checks, making filings with regulatory agencies, disposing of salvage, pursuing subrogation when appropriate
- Controls claims costs
- Maintains expected case load
- Maintains company reputation and integrity of insurance products by complying with federal and state regulations, service standards and client requirements
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge through continuing education
- Large catastrophe events may require prolonged periods away from home and long working hours
What are the requirements to be a CAT adjuster?
- Valid adjuster's license in state of residence (where required by law)
- Must be able to travel on short notice and remain on location for indefinite periods
- In most cases, Catastrophe Adjusters are responsible for their own travel and living expenses while on assignment
- Must possess the necessary tools, e.g. ladder, laptop, cell phone, etc., required for the assignment available
- Acceptable results on pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check and motor vehicle records check
- Dependable vehicle & proof of auto insurance with required limits of liability ($100,000/$300,000)
- Ability to climb and be able to lift up to 40 lbs
- High school diploma
- Good communication skills, organizational ability, technical knowledge, and computer skills
- These certifications are recommended but not required — Auto Certification, Fire Certification, NFIP Flood Certification
- Bilingual is a plus
- Knowledge of Xactimate/Xactware is preferred
- Knowledge of Mitchell preferred for auto adjusters

Renovo FAQ
What is RENOVO?
RENOVO is Crawford's catastrophe portal, empowering our adjusters, employees and clients with leading-edge technology. It simplifies tasks and gives our catastrophe team an edge. You can access RENOVO in your browser or via the mobile app which is available for iPhone and Android devices.
What can I do in RENOVO?
- Manage your profile including licenses and certifications
- Upload you resume and other documentation
- Receive notifications for available deployments
- Complete timesheets
- Request standby status for active events
- Track and enter expenses for every job
- Set your availability status
- All at your fingertips
When will I be added to the RENOVO system?
You must first complete all adjuster onboarding before creating a RENOVO profile. Once your onboarding is complete, the hiring platform will create your RENOVO information. You will receive an email prompting you to log in to RENOVO.
How can I log into RENOVO?
- In a web browser, go to https://renovo.crawco.com/
- Select “Adjuster Login”
- Sign in by using one of the options (Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, Microsoft Account) that is tied to the same email as your RENOVO account
