Tropical Storm Fred

As Tropical Storm Fred passes through the Caribbean, storm watches and warnings have been issued to parts of the Dominican Republic, Haiti, southeast Bahamas, Turks and Caicos Islands, as well as parts of Cuba. The Dominican Republic could possibly see up to three to five inches of rainfall, along with flash floods and mudslides. The system is expected to move to the west-northwest at 15 to 20 mph but is expected to weaken heading into Thursday evening.

In the event TS Fred intensifies as it reaches the waters south of Florida and the eastern Gulf of Mexico, Florida could expect to receive three to five inches of heavy rainfall including strong winds. For now, those in Florida and the areas surrounding the Bahamas should continue to monitor Fred’s path over the next couple of days.
