The first official named storm of the 2024 storm season began in the south east Gulf of Mexico before forming into a Tropical Depression heading towards Texas and Mexico.

Tropical Storm warnings were issued for coastal areas in Texas with heavy rainfall, flooding and high wind speeds expected.
