As our response continues to Hurricane Ian’s impact, we are tremendously proud of the entire Crawford team and adjusters who are working tirelessly to restore lives, businesses and communities affected.
While the Orlando catastrophe support room will remain open through the end of the month, the training team will transition to virtual support rooms beginning Friday, October 14. This will allow them to provide support to field adjusters without the need for a physical location.
Our primary focus remains getting claims processed and delivering outstanding customer service to our clients and their insureds.

Rohit Verma, Crawford & Company’s CEO, visited the Orlando catastrophe support room today to extend his thanks and support to the Crawford team for their tireless efforts and empathic professionalism in responding to Hurricane Ian.
The Orlando catastrophe support room will remain open through the end of the month to provide our adjusters the support they need to serve our policyholders. From scheduling appointments and writing estimates to equipping our adjusters with the latest tools and technology — this continues to be a carefully coordinated response by the multidisciplinary Crawford team whose primary goal is restoring the lives, businesses and communities of those impacted by Hurricane Ian.

While Hurricane Ian is projected to be the largest hurricane-related loss event in Florida’s history. It is important to remember that such disasters are also overwhelming, confusing and wrought with a range of emotions for claimants suffering losses.
Beyond having the best technically-trained adjuster teams equipped with the tools and knowledge to swiftly handle claims – we are tremendously proud of the empathy the Crawford team brings to addressing the human side of loss.
Even while scoping losses, our adjusters make an effort to connect and listen to policyholders’ emotional responses to this distressing event. For many claimants, recovery and rebuilding will be a long, arduous process that takes time. But communicating to policyholders that we care about them and understand their situation, fears, and doubts can make a significant difference during this exceptionally difficult time.

Maintaining our agile response to Hurricane Ian, we have ceased operations at our Tampa catastrophe response support room and shifted to Orlando as our base of operations.
Our supplementary support rooms in Jacksonville, Gainesville and Sunrise remain open, actively onboarding and equipping adjusters for field deployment. We continue to adapt and seek support room locations closer to the impacted areas as conditions permit.
While we anticipate flood claims to be the most prevalent peril, other parts of the Crawford team are also experiencing increased demand including Contractor Connection, Loss Adjusting, WeGoLook and edjuster.

As routes are cleared to the communities of Ft. Myers and Florida’s southwest coast, previously isolated by catastrophic storm damage, we continue to evaluate the impact of Hurricane Ian and deploy additional teams to assist with the recovery.
The devastation from Hurricane Ian’s impact on Florida is expected to be a $40-$60 billion event for the insurance industry – likely to surpass the $41 billion insured loss payout of Hurricane Katrina in 2015.
We now stand at 1,549 adjuster deployments and growing, our largest deployment of adjusters in history at such an early stage of the storm. Our immediate focus is to continue to provide the requisite numbers of adjusters to address the record levels of flood, wind and auto losses.
To support these recovery efforts, today we established another catastrophe response support room in the Orlando area in addition to our support rooms in Gainesville, Tampa and Sunrise, Florida. These catastrophe response support rooms are critical to coordinating our ongoing response and delivering both logistical and moral support to our teams of adjusters on the ground.
Oct 03, 2022
As of this morning, Crawford Catastrophe hit a record of 1,529 actively deployed adjusters. That record-breaking number will continue to increase over the coming days as hundreds more adjusters are inbound to the affected areas of Florida.
Our catastrophe response support rooms are fully operational in Gainesville, Tampa and Sunrise, Florida; and we are actively working to establish additional support rooms in Orlando and Ft. Myers as quickly as possible.
We have a tremendous team of the best-trained adjusters in the business working continuously and compassionately to restore the lives, businesses, and communities of our policyholders. Every adjuster that joins the Crawford Catastrophe team benefits from our best-in-class training program that is setting a new standard for claims adjusting.

A downgraded Hurricane Ian, now a post-tropical storm, is gradually weakening as it moves northward leaving a swath of flooding, storm damage and millions without power across the states of Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia.
Crawford's multidisciplinary CAT response teams are on the ground, mobilized and responding to the needs of our customers and their policyholders. During these early stages, we are prioritizing emergency mitigation services, board-up activities and tree removal to help minimize damage and return homes and commercial buildings to a usable condition as quickly as possible.
An initial wave of over 1,000 adjusters is currently under deployment, representing one of the largest adjuster deployments ever by Crawford. We anticipate this number to grow and are prepared to respond as claims volumes increase over the coming days.
At Crawford, our steadfast focus is on restoring lives, businesses and communities as quickly and effectively as we can in the aftermath of major events such as Hurricane Ian. We are in constant communication with clients to assess needs of their policyholders to deploy an appropriate response.
