Wendy Lee, Director of Marine Cargo in Hong Kong has more than 20 years’ experience in marine cargo claims adjustments with policy liability assessments and third-party administration. She has had extensive involvement in claims management pertinent to major catastrophic losses worldwide, vessel collisions, particular average claims, misappropriation of cargo.
Wendy’s experience speaks for itself, joining us from a key position in a leading Japanese insurance company, where she was responsible for holding extensive meetings with insurance companies in various countries in the Far East to resolve marine claims settling issues and offer optimal solutions.
She believes that teamwork, management support and encouragement from friends and family have been key factors in her successful career. When it comes to a work ethic, she believes in being humble, respecting others and caring for the world – traits inspired by her tennis idol, Rafael Nadal.
Wendy has experienced many challenges throughout her career, but using her skill and determination she has been able to navigate the complexities thrown up by marine cargo claims. Innovative thinking is the lifeblood here at Crawford, and Wendy recalls throwing out the rule book when she faced severe manpower shortages during a particularly hectic schedule – moving internal resources around and doing whatever feasible to retain talent.
That innovative approach to life and work is summed up by her inspiring quote from Albert Einstein,
‘Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.’
