This year’s annual Women Into Construction Celebration Event was held at Carpenters Hall in London’s Throgmorton Avenue – and Crawford Contractor Connection was proud to be a sponsor.
Women Into Construction (WiC) is an independent not-for-profit organisation that promotes gender equality in construction. It provides bespoke support to women looking to work in the industry and helps contractors to recruit highly motivated and trained women, helping to reduce skills gaps and create a more gender-equal work force.
That’s why WiC has long been part of the Contractor Connection Foundation, set up in the UK by Crawford Contractor Connection to help promote and grow a more open, diverse and sustainable construction and repair market environment.
Marking an incredible 15 years of supporting women into the construction sector, this was a special evening of recognition and celebration for WiC, with support and participation from its members and supporters and including uplifting presentations and the regular annual awards.
As a sponsor, Crawford was ably represented by: Raj Sahota, membership services manager, Contractor Connection; Theresa Tate, regional manager, Crawford Building Consultancy; Francine Lagna-Fietta, head of key clients - Platforms & Subsidence; and Karen Chapman, support manager, Contractor Connection.
Lisa Bartlett, president, UK & Ireland, says
“Right now, women make up only around 14% of construction industry professionals. Partnering with WiC underpins Crawford’s commitment to encourage women to pursue successful careers in the sector. Together with the Contractor Connection Foundation, WiC is making significant strides towards a more diverse, open and sustainable construction industry and I am proud to support this incredible organisation.”
