As part of Crawford’s commitment to career development and expertise, 38 leaders from across the globe were invited to participate in the Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) at Crawford’s global headquarters, the Atlanta Support Center, this October. The rigorous and immersive training program included leadership coaching, a deep dive into Crawford’s business lines, team building activities and a group project in which participants were asked to develop solutions to real-life challenges that the company faces.
The course covered topics such as advanced business acumen, levels of listening, leadership styles and the Hogan Assessment, which helped leaders better understand how others perceive them. For the business challenges, the leaders were divided into five groups. Each group worked together to develop innovative strategies for complex scenarios, such as how to accelerate growth and integrate companies post-merger. On the final day, teams presented their proposals to the executive leadership team, and they asked questions and provided feedback. Ultimately, the goal is to implement some of the group’s solutions.
Held annually, Crawford’s ELP has been the preeminent program for developing and transforming proven managers into leaders at Crawford for more than a decade. Executive leaders nominate participants for the program based on their leadership skills and potential for growth.
“This program is an extraordinary opportunity for Crawford’s best and brightest to come together to learn and grow with a deeper understanding of the business and by honing their leadership and interpersonal skills,”
said Melissa McCoy, director of training and talent. She added, “It was important that we balance the learning component with creating strong bonds between the participants. Our hope is that this group will continue to support one another along their career journey with Crawford for years to come.”
Leaders traveled from all over the globe to participate in ELP, including Australia, England, Singapore and many other countries where the company operates. Levi Mitchell, assistant vice president of global compliance, based in Adelaide, Australia, reflected on the value of the program, “Crawford’s ELP represents a significant investment in the company’s future. The program brings together a diverse group of high-potential and proven managers from around the world, providing them with the opportunity to develop their skills, expand their networks and gain a deeper understanding of Crawford’s global operations. He added,
“by investing in the development of future leaders, Crawford is ensuring that it has the talent it needs to continue to grow and succeed in the years to come. I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to participate in the ELP as I continue to progress in my career as a leader at Crawford."
