Putting our RESTORE values to work, Crawford has converted many of its interns to full-time employees. One of Crawford’s most successful Intern-2-Employee stories is Caroline Finkle, who discovered the internship opportunity from her father, Phil Finkle, who has been with Crawford for almost 11 years.
During the summer of 2016, Caroline accepted an internship as a financial planning and analysis intern at the Atlanta Support Center. In this introductory role, she was able to work on projects that made an impact on the company and was not restricted to typical intern work. “I had a chance to do things that you wouldn’t have the opportunity to do at other companies, like work on real projects and network with senior management,“ she says.
In addition to applying classroom knowledge to professional experience, interns are encouraged to work with leaders from various departments to gain a clear perspective of alternate business operations and management processes. With experience gained from Pat Scullion, Anita Drage, Meg Schneider, and Tom Mullens, all leaders in the finance department, Caroline was able to parlay a full-time role within a year. When asked what encouraged her to pursue the full-time opportunity Caroline proclaims, “I enjoyed building relationships with and learning from my supervisors so when an opportunity opened up with FP&A, I jumped at the opportunity to work with them again.”
