Based out of Maryland, United States, Michael Wetter, a multi-line property and casualty adjuster, has been with Crawford since 2018. Michael recently shared why he appreciates Crawford’s training opportunities and what he loves to do when he’s not adjusting claims.
Why did you choose Crawford?
Crawford is truly a leader in the industry. From a trusted service established in 1941 to groundbreaking innovations, Crawford investment in the claims management business on behalf of our clients and their policyholders is inspiring. I appreciate the forward-thinking approach to the business.
What is a typical work week like for you?
My role is a combination of field and desk work and is not easily defined as a regular 9-5 because many of my clients are in different time zones. I plan my hours around my customers, and I often work a few hours in the evenings to accommodate their schedules. I have found this helps with open lines of communication and the insured or policyholders know that they can reach me at various times of day or night when needed.
What do you like about working at Crawford?
I like working at Crawford because there are ample opportunities for growth and development. We have access to education, training, management, and peer assistance throughout our teams and locations.
How will adjusting change over the next five years?
While there are many advancements in technology, I still believe that field adjusting requires a personal touch. I think developing new technology, superior customer services and expertise will continue to be the driving force behind successful claims management.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I enjoy reading, learning, cooking and home-improvement projects.
