Growing up in Michigan, Chris Wilkie has a passion for serving others. This passion eventually guided him to serve in the United States Marine Corps after high school. Shortly afterward, Chris attended Michigan State University where he obtained a degree in Criminal Justice while serving in the Marine Corps Reserve.
Early career
After graduation, Chris joined State Farm as a property claims specialist. He found the work fascinating and enjoyed applying his Criminal Justice degree in real-world situations. After two years, Chris took a position with The Hartford where he remained for the next 13 years. During his time, Chris rose through the ranks becoming a supervisor overseeing residential and commercial property claims. He quickly grew to the role of a National General Adjuster leading a team of adjusters that managed complex commercial losses. While at The Hartford, Chris obtained his MBA from Ball State University. He also led the development of new software that was nominated for the Chairman Award of Excellence.
Chris then moved to Zurich Insurance where he took on the role of AVP, General Adjuster. There he would expand his knowledge and expertise in the large and complex space, leading those challenging claims on behalf of Zurich.
Joining Crawford
Before accepting a position at Crawford, Chris knew of Crawford GTS and the services we provided. That expertise is what drove Chris to join the Crawford GTS team. As an Executive General Adjuster, Chris can learn and work alongside some of the industry’s leading experts.
“The opportunity to work on larger and more complex claims across a diversity of clients attracted me to Crawford immediately. I get up each morning ready to take on a new challenge.”
Personal life
When Chris is not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and four children. Sports dominate the household on the weekends and when not immersed in sports, he enjoys spending time outside camping and hunting.
