At the start of July, a dedicated team of employees tackled the challenging Trek26 event, traversing either 13 or 26 miles across the stunning, rugged Cotswold hills. It was a wet and cold July day – a typical British summer day!
Our goal was to raise funds and awareness for a cause close to our hearts—supporting the Alzheimer’s Society and their mission to create a world where dementia no longer devastates lives.
In the UK alone, it is estimated that 1 in 3 people will eventually be diagnosed with dementia. By 2040, this condition could affect 1.4 million lives. These staggering statistics underscore the importance of our support and the vital work of the Alzheimer’s Society.
Our team faced the unpredictable British weather head-on, enduring mud, rain and cold wind. Despite these challenges, the spirit and determination of Team Crawford shone through. Everyone was driven by the knowledge that our efforts were making a real difference for those affected by dementia. See the team in action here.
We are thrilled to announce that this trek raised over £7,000 for the Alzheimer’s Society and you can still donate here.
‘’We are incredibly grateful to Team Crawford for battling the weather and completing the Cotswolds Trek26 event, raising an incredible £7,381! In the UK today, over 982,000 people are living with the realities of dementia and a further 700,000 people are caring for them. Thank you to everyone at Crawford for your continued support of our Insurance United Against Dementia campaign and playing a vital role in ending the devastation caused by dementia.’’
Chris Park, the Alzheimer’s Society.
Our commitment to supporting the Alzheimer’s Society and Insurance United Against Dementia will continue through 2024-25 with support for the Insurance Day of Dementia later this year and Jay Dunk, director of software engineering, taking on the London Marathon for the Alzheimer’s Society in 2025.
