Crawford & Company (Australia) has started 2025 on a strong note, with key hires across its business. Well-known insurance industry leaders Mark McDermott and Simon Davies have joined Crawford Australia’s Account Management and Specialty teams.
Mark McDermott and Simon Davies bring a collective experience of 60 years in the industry and are well-respected names in the loss adjusting and claims management community.
Mark McDermott has joined Crawford as a key account manager following an impressive 16 years at QBE where he was head of claims relationships. He is well-regarded for his robust and trusted relationships in the insurance industry. In his new role, Mark will manage key accounts for Crawford to achieve shared success and enhance client satisfaction. Mark will also play a crucial role in building strategic connections for Crawford within the broker community, leveraging his strong ties in the industry.
Simon Davies joins Crawford’s Specialty team as an executive adjuster and will be based in Gold Coast. Formerly with McLarens, Simon has extensive experience managing large and complex commercial losses, especially storm and fire-related damage, for a variety of industries, including aged care, hospitality, and mining.

Mark and Simon’s appointment follows closely on the heels of Paul Hardy, who moved from Charles Taylor to Crawford Australia in January 2025.
