In May 2023, I found myself at a crossroads in my career journey, in between jobs and uncertain about my next steps. It was then that an unexpected opportunity arose: the Crawford Fast Track program. Despite having no prior interest in insurance, a family member recommended my entry into the industry, where my degree in business and law, coupled with customer service experience, paved the way for an unexpected career move.
The Fast Track program, as I soon discovered, was an initiative tailored for individuals like me—new grads or job changers eager to explore the diverse facets of the insurance industry. Through 6-8 rotations in different fields, participants are afforded the chance to gain hands-on experience into various aspects of insurance.
Once I joined Crawford, I immediately dove into the Fast Track program. I was assigned to the program for a well-known accommodation booking provider, entering the world of property and liability insurance. While the property aspect seemed straightforward, it was the liability aspect that truly captured my interest. Each case felt like a puzzle to solve, requiring investigation and problem-solving skills. Leadership played a pivotal role in my development, and although opportunities for a new rotation were presented, I found myself drawn to staying within the program I initially started.
Working alongside a dedicated team, I quickly found my footing despite the initial learning curve. The environment started off slow as I familiarized myself with the intricacies of the field, but soon the pace picked up. With a competitive salary and a dynamic work atmosphere, comprising constant juggling and teamwork, each day has brought new challenges and opportunities for my professional growth.
Reflecting on my overall experience, I can confidently say that this experience has been overwhelmingly positive. The Fast Track program provided me with an environment for learning and growth, allowing me to progress at my own pace while pushing myself towards new horizons. It's an ideal avenue for individuals uncertain about their career path, offering exposure to the insurance industry.
In hindsight, participating in Crawford Fast Track program has not only broadened my career prospects but has also equipped me with invaluable skills into the world of insurance. With determination, adaptability, and strong interpersonal skills, participants of this program can thrive even in unfamiliar territory because of the support that is offered by the Crawford team.
