Starting Crawford's Fast Track Program was a pivotal moment in my professional journey. Joining the first cohort of the Fast Track program -- a specialized initiative designed to accelerate the development of aspiring insurance professionals. It offers participants like me a structured pathway to gain hands-on experience and essential skills within the insurance industry.
I anticipated a lengthy job search, but Crawford Canada's response to my application changed everything. Despite a few initial hiccups before onboarding, their flexibility and understanding assured me of their commitment.
Starting with 13 fellow adjusters, I began my journey into various segments, ultimately finding my niche in the auto rotation, a likely result of my engineering background. Transitioning between commercial and personal lines, each rotation presented unique challenges, particularly navigating the complexities of personal auto claims. Despite the learning curve, every experience enriched my understanding of insurance practices and customer service.
Opting to return to commercial lines after my second rotation, I found fulfillment in navigating accident causes and fault determination. Along my journey, Crawford's support from leadership provided me with the training and development I needed.
Reflecting on this experience, the Fast Track Program has been instrumental in honing my skills and mindset. My advice to newcomers and career changers is to embrace the challenges, manage time efficiently and prioritize customer service.
