Andiara Nordang Fleischer is a natural leader in every sense of the word. Supportive, empathetic, committed and decisive. She has devoted herself to improving collaboration across our Nordic operations with considerable success.
Since becoming Crawford’s Nordic regional director in January 2022, her approach to managing people and ability to lead a diverse regional operation has not escaped the attention of the Crawford leadership or the wider industry. In October, she was named one of Business Insurance’s EMEA ‘Women to Watch,’ recognising outstanding women leaders, and is the first recipient of the Virginia Crawford Award for ‘Inspirational Leader.’
Taking the lead
Andiara is very much a team player at Crawford. She is someone who considers all opinions and aspects before making decisions and is a hands-on manager – while still making time to balance work commitments with personal and family life.
As Nordic regional director, she has risen to the challenge of bringing the region’s offices together. Her sensitivity to the cultural and linguistic differences between countries has seen her visiting each office to speak with colleagues and investigate areas for greater alignment.

she says.
Sometimes, introducing change into a well-established working environment can prove challenging. However, with patience and sensitivity, Andiara has helped ensure all her colleagues feel involved in the future direction of the company, sharing financial goals on a daily, weekly and monthly basis and being visible and present when they need guidance or information.
Alongside her passion for managing a talented team, Andiara is also a keen champion of ESG within Crawford and is actively involved with leading initiatives and workstreams to help firm up the company’s commitments.
She led Crawford’s first step - joining the UN Global Compact in 2021 - and believes that by putting sustainability at the heart of its offering, Crawford can create a stronger competitive advantage and increased customer value.
A supportive role
Andiara has always maintained a clear focus on achieving a healthy work-life balance. As a mother of three, she feels she was completely supported in her choice to dedicate time to her family, and her experience shows that parenthood never held back her career progression.
“I believe passionately in encouraging men and women to find the balance between their personal and professional ambitions, and this has shaped my approach to leadership,”
she says.
An empathetic and accessible manager, Andiara has been working with her teams to discuss their opportunities, their aspirations and how they can manage their home and work lives together.
She firmly believes you can achieve what you want if you remain focused and have the correct and appropriate support.
“I try to be a good role model, especially for the women at my company, as this hopefully will be an example that they can relate to when they consider taking the lead. Furthermore, in our company, we are careful to recruit both men and women to secure a balanced talent ‘pool’ of future leaders."
