When hurricanes Florence and Michael descended upon the Eastern U.S. in 2018, Crawford Catastrophe Services set up its induction center at the Atlanta Support Center, where more than 400 Crawford full-time employees from a variety of disciplines are employed. This gave Crawford's Atlanta employees a unique opportunity to see how Crawford mobilizes adjusters when disaster strikes.
The induction center hummed with consistent activity for three full days as the catastrophe services team welcomed adjusters from all over the country. They arrived in RVs, trucks, and SUVs to offer their help to individuals affected by the hurricanes. Crawford employees from legal, ethics and compliance, finance and IT, just to name a few, seized the opportunity and joined in the commotion to help. They ensured that adjusters had the licenses, tools and client-specific information needed to respond quickly and effectively.
In addition to the great care with which the preparations were made, this gathering was a reunion of sorts. Old friends, from Crawford and the field, reconnected and reflected on shared work experiences and even helped guide new CAT adjusters through the onboarding processes. The spirit of camaraderie was palpable as people came together to respond. This was a group who cared about their work and about one another.
It made perfect sense to capture the moment. We brought our video camera and asked a few of these dedicated people what they love about their work. You can view their responses in three separate videos we've prepared. Watch them in the carousel below or at the following links:
At Crawford, our mission to restore and enhance lives, businesses and communities is more than a job. It’s a passion — for helping others and for the greater good.
