Each year, Crawford & Company welcomes students from around the world for our summer internship program. These interns have the opportunity to learn firsthand about Crawford’s mission and to gain valuable on the job experience as well as to make connections with many of Crawford’s leadership team. This year brought a new challenge as we faced the COVID-19 pandemic.
Like many companies, Crawford employees are working remotely, and for the first time, this year’s interns would have to do the same. Navigating a virtual internship can be difficult, but we have been impressed by their dedication and focus. Each intern has brought their unique skill set and made an impact since their arrival. We are introducing a few of the talented group in the first installment of our Intern Spotlight Series. Read more below to meet them.
Grace Halley
Grace is from Suwanee, Georgia, and a junior at Auburn University. She is majoring in graphic design and is joining our marketing department this summer. Her favorite hobbies are cartooning and character designing, but her true passion is the creativity behind graphic design.
“As a designer, I am passionate about telling stories through creation. The leaders at Crawford value telling people’s stories and taking old concepts and making them new again.”
When searching for summer internship opportunities, Grace sought a business that emphasized respect and empowerment and was impressed to find that at Crawford.
Grace has found a supportive environment at the company, building new connections throughout the business despite a virtual work setting.
Aryan Pal Tah
Aryan Pal Tah is from Dubai and goes to college at Emory University. Aryan is joining the strategy department this summer.
“My goal for this summer is to get professional exposure and to learn how to apply my skills in different areas. With the diverse functions of the strategy department and the intern project, I am excited at the many opportunities I have to learn new concepts!”
Aryan is eager to meet different team members and build a network of contacts throughout the internship. Even though the internship is virtual, the projects that he has worked on have kept him busy and engaged. Aryan looks forward to making an impact during his time at Crawford.
Isabelle Nassar
Isabelle Nassar is from Tucker, Georgia. Isabelle is studying international affairs at Kennesaw State University. This summer, she is joining the global ethics and compliance team.
Isabelle’s parents, who are Lebanese immigrants, raised her to see education as a great privilege that should be used to help others.
“My personal and professional goals revolve around my parents’ teachings. I am looking forward to lending a hand to as many people as possible in the future.”
While at Crawford, Isabelle has been given the chance to see how Crawford fulfills its mission of restoring and enhancing lives, businesses and communities around the globe. By learning more about the day to day work, she has gained immeasurable knowledge that will help her be a leader who is focused on making the world a better place.
Kenneth Anyanwu
Kenneth Anyanwu is helping our talent acquisition team, this summer. Kenneth is currently a student at Northwestern University studying communications.
“My passion in life is to empower those around me wherever I go and, to make them want to be the best version of themselves.”
Kenneth is proud to join Crawford’s team this summer because of the value system that has been at the core of the business for 79 years. Since Kenneth is dedicated to empowering others, Crawford’s RESTORE values resonate with him.
Like many other interns, Kenneth hopes to connect with Crawford’s leaders as well as the other interns. He wants to use this experience to challenge himself and gain new skills that cannot be learned in a classroom.
Mazen Mohammed
Mazen is from Addis-Ababa, Ethiopia, and currently studies computer information systems at Georgia State University. This summer, he is working with the IT department. Mazen’s hobbies include reading and he has a particular love for fantasy fiction.
“I am always looking for new opportunities to challenge myself.”
Mazen is thrilled to work at Crawford so that he can learn from the people around him. He takes a great interest in experiencing different situations to gain new perspectives. Masen is fascinated by the vast cultures around the world, and hopes to meet people from all over the globe who work at Crawford.
While the internship with Crawford lasts only seven weeks, Mazen intends to utilize the skills he acquires this summer, to open up doors into life after college.
Taylor Talty
Taylor Talty is from Alpharetta, Georgia. Taylor is a junior and supply-chain management major at the University of South Carolina. She is joining our procurement team this summer.
Ever since Taylor was young, her desire to make a difference has made a big impact on her life and where she aspires to be. She also possesses an aspiration to work in a global business where her ambitions can be put to use for thousands of people.
“I have the opportunity to take my passion for serving others to a corporate platform. Crawford & Company has introduced me to an industry that allows me to help people faced with difficult situations and to offer solutions.”
Like other interns, Taylor quickly noticed how her goals aligned with Crawford’s RESTORE values. This, to her, created the excitement and purpose she wants to feel when transitioning after college.
